My story
Welcome! My name is Sallie Bale, and I founded Monument Marketing to bring to together my extensive expertise across the marketing mix, my passion for inclusion and diversity, and my love of history and community.
My journey into heritage marketing began with a fascination for stories and their power to connect people. That's not quite true... the real start was reading an article about careers where you can earn the most by doing the least, where PR came (almost) top. This led me to pursue a BA in PR & Marketing Communications Strategy & Planning, which is where I really got my love of brand narratives and storytelling.
I further honed my skills with a Master's degree in Advertising Strategy and Planning from Falmouth University, where I focused on improving the effectiveness and efficiency of advertising through account planning. My commitment to creating a fair, equal, and diverse advertising industry earned me a distinction.
My professional path has taken me through global agencies like Hill & Knowlton, The&Partnership, and RAPP. I served as Head of Strategy at Lane, overseeing brand strategy, marketing strategy, campaign strategy, consumer insight, and marketing effectiveness and measurement. I also founded and preside over Bloom Scotland, a network of 1,000 women in the communications and marketing industry in Scotland. My work in inclusion and diversity began early in my career at Cisco, further enriching my approach to heritage marketing.
